C entered around a stunning 450-foot-long tiered swimming pool and overlooking the Sea of Cortez, Chileno Bay Resort & Residences is a pristine sanctuary on 22 acres at the tip of the Baja California Peninsula. Chileno Bay’s tranquil waters allow for on-site aquatic activities such as snorkeling, eFoil, SNUBA, SEABOB, stand-up paddleboarding, and kayaking—a rare opportunity as most beachfront properties in the area are non-swimmable. One of the newer Auberge properties, the resort opened to villa owners in 2016 and to resort guests in 2017, with a contemporary design and floor plans that create seamless indoor and outdoor experiences. According to Resort Manager Eva Lopez, the mix of 99 guestrooms and 60 villa suites with open-air terraces and stunning views of the ocean are “designed to feel like a home away from home, for both short-term guests and long-term residents.” Indeed, the rooms are inviting, spacious and centered around gathering spaces, and depending on room type, offer laundry and kitchen facilities, out- door grills on private patios (that resort chefs can use to create custom din- ners), spaces to work remotely or curl up and read a book, private pools and hot tubs, and comfortable seating to unwind and gaze at the ocean. “The 95 guestrooms go up to 885 square feet and are furnished with cus- tom pieces and original artwork,” Lopez explains. “We have a variety of CHILENO BAY RESORT & RESIDENCES, AUBERGE RESORTS COLLECTION Los Cabos , Mex i co B Y S A B R I NA S P E I DE L D E S T I N AT I O N S C A R M E L M A G A Z I N E • F A L L 2 0 2 4 175 Photos: Courtesy of Auberge Resorts Collection
