Built in Distributors (BID) President Randall Freeman is committed to continuing BID’s long legacy of service as the local resource for high-end appliances. Photo: Kelli Uldall W hen shopping for new appliances, Americans are likely to head to a big box retailer with limited selection and even more limited service. But here on the Monterey Peninsula, Built In Distributors (BID) offers more than 50 top-tier brands such as Thermador, Viking, Speed Queen, Miele, Whirlpool, Wolf, LG, Sub-Zero and the list goes on. “BID has been in business since 1962,” says President Randall Freeman. “We started by sell- ing to local builders and the community. Now we’re committed to expanding that service going forward.” BID is now under the umbrella of Teamshares, a company that focuses on acquiring high-end legacy businesses nation- wide, ensuring that each company continues to thrive and honor their well-earned respect for employees and the public. “All of our employees enjoy an ownership stake in the company,” Freeman explains. That ensures customers that the people they deal with at BID have a commitment to the highest level of customer service. BID’s 5,000-square-foot Seaside showroom is set up to allow the customer to browse appliances in a comfortable, user-friendly shop- ping experience. Many products are in stock, ready for pickup or delivery. There’s also a large showroom across the bay in Santa Cruz. “We’re focused on servicing Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito Counties,” shares Freeman. BID is located at 2024 Fremont Boulevard in Seaside. For more information, call 831/899-2666 or visit www.bidappliance.com .
