FRIDAY, AUGUST 9 Monterey Race Car Show Kickoff www.weathertechraceway.com T his dynamic Monterey Car Week opener brings 30 race cars from WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca to downtown Monterey under California Highway Patrol escort. A free show with not-street-legal cars, live music and raffle prizes follows from 5 to 7 p.m., when the cars return to the track for a weekend of racing. SATURDAY-SUNDAY, AUGUST 10-11 Monterey Pre-Reunion and Corkscrew Hillclimb www.weathertechraceway.com T his casual fan favorite draws an array of his- toric race cars to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, where they take practice laps ahead of the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. Attendees can roam the open pad- dock, chat with drivers, and view cars up close. For the third year, cars will also race counter- course to finish at the top of the track’s iconic Corkscrew.
