On the lobby level, The Living Room’s open salon with plush seating and fireplaces features the soothing sounds of a live harpist and pro- vides a refined afternoon tea service. Delicious savory items such as house-smoked salmon with lemon and caviar, English cucumber on pumpernickel with mint and lemon, egg salad on marble rye, chicken salad and charred zucchini, are presented on a tempting tower. Sweet treats like fresh strawberries and cream, scones, macarons, cranberry apple tarts and more are offered with tea and champagne. Post dinner, a night cap menu offers delicious bites like Dungeness crab flatbread, boneless hen wings and bison sliders, tea inspired cocktails and, on certain evenings, live musical performances. Also on the main level, The Club Bar, which received a ForbesTravel Guide award for one of the World’s Best Hotel Bars, has the allure of a traditional atmosphere created by dark wood and leather seating, and carries rare spirits and wines by the glass. Delights like caviar, flatbreads, charcuterie boards, truffle macaroni and cheese, beef sliders and dim sum are perfect for dining into the late hours. Adjacent to the bar and Living Room, The Belvedere restaurant is styled after a European brasserie with a French countryside meets Southern California menu served against a backdrop of revolving art collections and per- formances. Michelin-starred Executive Chef Ralf Schlegel, an expert in French, German and Italian styles of cooking, uses local ingredients, including from the hotel’s own garden, for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. Everything from crab cakes to duck to beef tenderloin, along with a plant-based menu, ensure a happy dining experience for all. Head up to the fifth floor of the hotel to the Roof Garden for fantastic casual dining and drinks, just steps below the stunning saltwater pool (which is gentler on skin and hair than chlo- rine) that features glorious views of the city sky- line with yellow-and-white striped umbrellas that pop against blue skies. Breakfast favorites like eggs Benedict with fresh squeezed juices, a light salad or taco for lunch, or a hearty burger for dinner, make al fresco dining even more enjoyable.
