Summer 2024
T he Mission of Post 512 is to enhance the well-being of Veterans, their families, our military, and our community by our devotion to mutual helpfulness. We started in 1925 as the Manzanita Club, became the USO during WWII and ultimately Post 512, led by General Jimmy Dolittle. Since 1936, Post 512 has been supporting Veterans, Veterans’ programs, and the Carmel Community. Programs we support: Veterans Transition Center (VTC), local Veterans’, local and national charities, Project Hero, Boys and Girls State, Carmel Youth Baseball, Carmel High School “Mock-Trial” team, meeting and gathering space for local non-profits (gratis), Operation Freedom Paws, gathering and meeting space for civic organization and individuals for celebrations of life, birthdays etc. Current Plans: • Expand our support of Veterans’ programs across Monterey County through support of VTC, Local Veterans housing initiates and Operation Freedom Paws. • Renovate the Post building to insure another 100 years of service to the community. • Scholarships to Veterans, their families, and local students. • Explore/develop low-cost veterans housing options in Carmel. Post 512 and the Carmel Patriots are nonprofit organizations that rely on contributions of kind people, like you. Your tax-deductible donations support Veterans and Veterans’ Programs.
