Photo: Kelli Uldall O n August 12, an all-day extravaganza entertains auto enthusiasts from brunch to dinner to celebrate Car Week and raise much needed funds for the Mid-Coast Fire Brigade. Event Directors Mitch and Marsha Taylor are running their fourth Central Coast Poker Rally, inviting owners of exotics, Porsches, Shelby Cobras, Corvettes and new American muscle cars to drive to special locations throughout Monterey County while playing rounds of poker. “At each stop, a sponsor will provide a sur- prise gift,” Marsha explains. “Whoever has the best hand at the end of the day will get their car painted by famous motorsports artist Kelly Telfer.” After a start at The Barnyard Shopping Village and brunch provided by Allegro Pizzeria, the group will make several stops, including WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, where they will get to take a few laps. “Mitch is a former race car champion,” Marsha explains. “The whole idea is to have fun and raise money for the people who risk their lives to protect us.” At the last stop, Bayonet/Black Horse Golf 'ourse, live music by the Money Band, a raffle and silent auction, prizes and dinner round out the day. “We are opening up ticket sales for a limited amount of people to come to the after-party celebration,” Marsha says. “It is important to us to have the community included.” For more information and to participate, visit www.centralcoastpokerrally.com .
