It meant a lot to see the original one in my mother’s handwrit- ing, since she recently passed.” For Davis-Rozsa, who began her career in New York City, where she got her gemology degree and worked for companies like Tiffany & Co., then returned to Carmel when her mother was older and wanted help, it was a pivotal point in her family history. “Connie and I made a pact that if I joined her in the business, our relationship would always come first,” she says. “Due to Connie’s knowl- edge, intelligence and sense of humor, I think we have been able to accomplish our goal. Her generosity in sharing the business with me has been amazing.” The store is full of an array of daz- zling gems and home décor, with classic brands like Lalique (for crys- tal) and Norman Silverman (dia- monds) along with designers out of Spain and Turkey. “People love an everyday casual look with Italian made, woven hand- made pieces in 18 karat gold, along with colored gems and fashion pieces,” Davis-Rozsa says. “We have clients purchase collectible items and also pieces for their grandchildren. We are in a resort area, but we are price sensitive. People are traveling and are surprised we don’t have higher prices. Mom always said, ‘They will come back if you are priced fairly, and greed will kill A trunk show at Marchesa Jewelry, which is located across from The Lodge at Pebble Beach Resorts, is planned this August for Car Week.
