The Pointe of Art process begins with a gathering known as the shoe exchange, when dancers perform short pieces and discuss why they love ballet. At the event, each dancer is paired with an experienced local artist. Dancers give their pointe shoes to the artists, who then create a work of art inspired by the dancer and her shoes.
