“Some of the projects we sold as spec hous- es,” Jay says. “On Junipero and 12th, we sold a house for the most expensive price per square foot in Carmel at the time.” Although Jay is challenged by Parkinson’s dis- ease, and has undergone lengthy brain surgeries, Vance and he remain extremely productive and are obviously as enamored with each other as ever, holding hands as they brightly share stories of the days of Jay surfing big waves on the North Shore of Oahu or attending parties with Photo: Courtesy of Jay and Vance Killen Jay and Vance Killen have been combining their build and design talents for decades.
