He and accompanying family members traveled to the restaurant on motorcycles during Sunday brunch hours. King Abdullah ordered pancakes and took a photo with Katy’s Place owner Randy Bernett, who said this was the king’s third visit to the classic Carmel breakfast spot. Royally Enjoying Sunday Brunch A fter gifting a birthday bike to Archie, the 4-year-old son of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Mad Dogs & Englishmen launched a wider summer giving campaign for children in need. The Carmel-by-the-Sea-based bicycle shop worked with local Boys & Girls Club chapters and other nonprofits to distribute 75 Specialized bikes to families. The give- aways, which took place during June events at Mad Dogs & Englishmen locations in Carmel, Mill Valley and Montecito, came in response to pushback about Archie’s gift. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex live in Montecito with their two children. “In response to some criticism we received for gifting a bike to a child of means, we decided to launch a bike giveaway to give a child’s bike to a child in need,” said Mad Dogs & Englishmen owner Jennifer Blevins, on a GoFundMe page for the project. “This got me thinking. Why stop with one bike? Let’s give as many bikes as we can to as many kids as we can, in honor of the birthday boy! Let’s maximize this unique opportunity to share the love and do more good in the world.” Blevins and her team contributed their own time and money and also welcomed more than $10,000 in donations to support the bicycle giveaway. People, TMZ, MSN and other outlets reported on the Big Sur wedding of “Mad Men” stars Jon Hamm and Anna Osceola. The June ceremony was held on a property where the two filmed the show’s 2015 finale. In the Anderson Canyon scene, Hamm’s character, Don Draper, comes up with the well-known Coca-Cola “Hilltop” ad from the 1970s. People says Tina Fey, Billy Crudup and Paul Rudd were among celebrities attending the wedding celebration. United States Representative Jimmy Panetta secured $7 million for the construction of a new local office for the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Housed on the California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB) campus, the office will enhance NOAA and CSUMB collaborations related to Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary conservation and research.
