Working Dogs BY MICHAEL CHATFIELD PHOTOGRAPHY BY KELLI ULDALL 80 C A R M E L M A G A Z I N E • S P R I N G 2 0 2 3 Puddin’ R ealtors Ben and Carole Heinrich say Puddin’ is a valued mem- ber of the Heinrich Team. “Eighty percent of our clients have dogs,” Ben says. “The first thing they see on our website is Puddin’, and that breaks the ice.” This 12-year-old Chihuahua/pug mix may be small, but she’s the team’s head of security. “She doesn’t use ferocity; she kills them with kindness.” TEDDY T his 10-year-old works at Brian Gingrich’s Monterey Mattress, so of course he has his own top-of-the-line twin size bed in his living room at home. “He hangs out in the office, but we don’t let him get up on the showroom beds,” Brian says. “Teddy gets the best of everything. I’m his chauffeur and drive him everywhere in my black 1996 Corvette.” Both Teddy and Puddin’ were adopted from Peace of Mind Dog Rescue.
