Summer 2023
While he traces an early interest in cars to his father, Singer’s introduc- tion to various Porsche models sparked his true passion. Growing up, he admired a family friend’s gray Porsche Coupe. A high school art teacher drove a green Porsche Cabriolet. While in Denver, Singer would stroll into the local Porsche dealership just to marvel at the cars. “They knew you weren’t going to buy, and you certainly didn’t have the means to do so. But the salespeople might give you a poster advertising their latest international race victory. Over the course of a few years, I got maybe three of them,” Singer says. “That planted the seed, both in terms of wanting a Porsche and appreciating these posters as art.” After college, while working in advertising sales, Singer stopped back at that dealership. As he admired a 1963 Porsche 356 B Super 90 Coupe parked outside, the owner started talking. The ruby red car with a black interior would be listed for sale later that week. 150 C A R M E L M A G A Z I N E • S U M M E R 2 0 2 3 Over the years, Singer has narrowed the focus of his collection. He now seeks out only original posters that showcase his favorite Porsches—the Porsche 356 and Porsche 911—as well as prewar vehicles, Mille Miglia cars, British, Italian and German marques.
