Singer bought the car. “We were together for 29 and a half years. I loved that car. I grew up with that car. It became an entrée to meeting new people, car people, and it opened a lot of doors. I’ve been a Porsche 356 owner ever since,” he says. All the while, Singer kept collecting auto memorabilia and posters. He developed a special interest in Porsche images and, eventually, prewar vehicles. Detailed illustrations, not photography, grace related posters produced between about 1895 and 1950. “It’s an artist’s conception of a par- ticular vehicle, race or setting. It really excites me, how people had the level of genius to execute this so well, and these posters have become very col- lectible,” Singer says. Since Singer launched his website, VintageAutoPosters.com, he has nar- rowed his focus to original posters showcasing the Porsche 356 and Porsche 911, along with prewar vehi- cles, Mille Miglia cars, British, Italian and German marques, and more. He is a member of the respected Internation- al Vintage Poster Dealers Association, and he consults with major auction houses to verify the authenticity and originality of rare posters. Singer also helps clients build poster collections.
