Anderson since they were teenagers. “They grew up in the same Southern California town and their musical paths have crossed on several projects. I’m so excited that we can share the bill for this event because I’m a fan.” Moreland will be playing drums for Anderson as well as for Alexander. “I’m especially grateful to Stephen Vagnini for putting this show together to help celebrate the release of my album,‘Messy,’ set to release July 21. I just might have some copies at the show.” Parthenon Huxley has garnered four Album of theYear awards, was named Rock Composer of theYear and has charted a No. 1 single. Since 1998 he’s played guitar and has sung with The Orchestra, an outfit that includes four original members of the seminal 1970s hitmakers Electric Light Orchestra (ELO). For Sunday’s concert, Huxley will be joined by Ben Hoyt, a violinist who tours as a solo artist and plays first violin in orchestral settings. He’s also performed with The Orchestra. “We will be playing a mix of songs from my twelve albums,” Huxley says, “plus some ELO and maybe a Beatles tune or two. We’ll do at least one song fromThe Move [the British band that morphed into ELO in 1970].” Huxley also has a history with Anderson. “When I was signed to Columbia Records in 1987, he was my produc- er’s favorite session guitarist. I heard him play and thought ‘I’ve got to get this guy in my band.’ We played many shows organized by Steve up and down the coast, including Monterey and Santa Cruz.” He now makes his home in Chevy Chase, Maryland, but still comes to California on tours. “I’m looking forward to this show. I’m always happy to be on the West Coast and among friends. I especially always enjoy being in the Monterey Bay area.” His new album, “As Good as Advertised,” will be released soon. Sunday’s show will be opened by the Mon- terey Peninsula’s own Katherine Lavin, a teenage songwriter who has been delighting audiences with her catalog of more than 50 original tunes since she was nine. Also on the bill is the Whiskey Wasps, the Florida based indie duo of husband-and-wife team Billy Schmidt and Rachel DuVall-Schmidt. The Forest Theater is located at Santa Rita St. & Mountain View Ave. in Carmel.
