AIM Gala Suppor ts Youth Mental Health Programs B Y R ENE E B R I NCK S T hree main leads from the Broadway pro- duction of “Hamilton” will headline the ninth annual AIM Youth Mental Health gala on September 14, at the Inn at Spanish Bay. Local student musicians are set to perform with Miguel Cervantes, Ta-Tynisa Wilson and Tamar Greene. Chris Harrison, formerly of “The Bachelor,” will IQGII XLI IZIRX [MXL LMW ½ERGqI 0EYVIR >MQE of “Entertainment Tonight.” The event raises funds for AIM, the Carmel- FEWIH RSRTVS½X FVMHKMRK XLI KET FIX[IIR research and access to care for youth facing mental health struggles. In 2022, the AIM Ideas Lab supported a stu- dent-led survey of well-being among Monterey County students. AIM CEO Lori Butterworth calls the results “devastating.” In response, the RSRTVS½X LEW GIVXM½IH QSVI XLER EHYPXW° including representatives from 65 local organi- ^EXMSRW°MR 1IRXEP ,IEPXL *MVWX %MH “Youth mental health is a complex issue. -X GERRSX FI ½\IH F] SRI SVKERM^EXMSR SV F] just sending kids to therapy,” says Butterworth. “We’re strategically building this community’s capacity to protect youth.” Similar training sessions for teens are slated to start this summer. “The AIM Ideas Lab empowers youth to discover mental health solutions.
