Now skiers and riders can access both mountains and enjoy a wide variety of terrain which provides options for beginners and experts. “Palisades refers to a bold line of cliffs, but the name also references two terrain areas on both sides of the mountain,” says Walton. “On the Palisades side, the area left of Siberia Express is called the Palisades, and has been a proving ground for influential free skiers for many years. The terrain with the same namesake along Alpine Bowl Chair shares the same history.” The ski area also offers fun snow activities like tubing and disco tubing, guided snowshoe hikes to the mid-mountain lodge at Alpine, and dining and shopping in the village.Those wishing to sightsee without skiing can ride the tram or Funitel to view the scenery and the Washoe display and the 1960 Olympic Museum at the top of High Camp.
